Methodology

How The CX Journal evaluates software

Every ranked guide begins with one defined use case and compares platforms against the same published criteria. The point is to make a reader’s decision easier to inspect, not to make a vendor’s claim louder.

Independence

Placement and ranking are never sold. No vendor sees a guide before it publishes. Affiliate disclosure, where applicable, appears on the page and never changes the order of a list.

What does each ranking examine?

Fit for the stated job: whether the platform genuinely serves the guide’s defined use case. Depth of underlying analysis: how well it helps teams understand feedback beyond collection. Integration coverage: how clearly it connects to the systems a team needs. Pricing transparency: how much a reader can establish from public information. Manual work left behind: how much effort remains after the tool’s core analysis is complete.

How are corrections handled?

If a factual error, material product change, or omitted context is identified, the relevant guide is reviewed and corrected. The visible last-updated date changes when an update is material, so readers can see when a guide was last revisited.
